OUR STORY

Lupa Irie, ND, is a graduate of the University of Georgia, a naturopath, author, teacher, natural food chef, entrepreneur, artist and creator of Lupa’s Kitchen, Inc.

Driven by her personal and professional motto, “Therapy through Food”, Lupa has spent 40 years around the world building and expanding her knowledge of natural food preparation as medicine. Lupa believes our ancestors had it right - eating quality foods, healthy fats and soaked, sprouted and fermented nuts and grains maintains optimal health.

Outside of her kitchen, Lupa teaches her class Rediscovering Traditional Food Preparation, empowering individuals to maintain better health through diet. Also, as a private therapeutic and organic chef, Lupa helps individuals with chronic health issues control their health through diet and aids athletes in improving their overall performance.

In January 2011, Lupa’s Kitchen, Inc. sprouted to life! Lupa’s Kitchen produces a line of organic, GMO free, casein-free, gluten-free and sprouted buckwheat granolas, germinated trail-mixes, cultured veggies and house-fermented kombucha.

A Tale of Two Women

In 2013, Lupa’s daughter Claire Irie formally joined the business as the Operations Director and Co-Owner. Graduating with a degree in psychology from Kennesaw State University, Claire's background and passion for holistic modalities perfectly suits her role in creating and maintaining the personal and unique relationships vital to the success of Lupa's Kitchen.

Claire's motivation comes from her deep love of her parents and bringing her mother's dream to fruition. When not by her mother's side in the kitchen, Claire spends much of her time on the road, building relationships and educating customers and retailers on the Lupa's Kitchen brand.

Passionate and determined, the mother-daughter-duo has pushed the family business forward, steadily expanding throughout the southeast region of the United States, one store at a time!

From Lupa's Kitchen to Yours

At Lupa’s Kitchen only the highest quality organic ingredients are used and prepared through traditional methods, maximizing their nutritional value. Traditional preparation includes sprouting all ingredients in purified water and mineralized sea salt, then dehydrating at a low heat. The low heat is a key component to the proper digestion by keeping the oils in the nuts from turning rancid. The overall process allows your body to utilize the nutrients within the food and assimilate the minerals provided.

Lupa’s Kitchen products are sold at Atlanta-local farmer’s markets, online and in numerous retail locations in the southeast, and expanding rapidly! Look out for Lupa’s Kitchen in various locations near you!

Kombucha is Alive!

It all started in the 90’s when a friend shipped a Scoby “mother” to founder Lupa Irie, ND who was raising her family in Jamaica West Indies. This started her passion for fermentation and Lupa has been brewing ever since !

Today Lupa’s Kitchen craft brews kombucha in the Atlanta Georgia area with the mother daughter team Claire & Lupa.
The flavoring profiles of Lupa’s Kitchen Kombucha is heavily influenced by their Caribbean background. Passion Fruit, Hibiscus, Ginger Tumeric, and Raspberry .

In 2018 with the motto GOOD VIBES .GOOD BOOCH. GOOD LIFE Lupa’s Kitchen became Georgia’s first locally brewed canned Kombucha . The pectin lined can offers the same great taste however, it is earth friendly and easy to recycle♻️ .

Drinking Lupa’s Kitchen Kombucha refreshes the soul.

What is Kombucha & Why drink it?

Kombucha is a living health drink made by fermenting tea and sugar with the kombucha culture. The culture is often referred to as a “scoby” (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeasts). Through the culturing process, there is a reduction of sugar and a release of friendly and beneficial bacteria, filling kombucha with loads of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and health-giving organic acids.

This ancient tonic, known as the "Tea of Immortality", dates back 2,000 years although the exact origins are unknown. Kombucha has been used in Japan, Russia and Eastern Europe for several centuries before traveling west to Germany where it was made popular in modern history for its uses in medicine.

Throughout its history, kombucha has been used as a long-term and daily treatment in a wide variety of diseases. While kombucha doesn't have a specific action for any particular illness, its systemic detox of the entire body through glucuronic acid has been observed to have many health benefits, such as higher energy levels, metabolic regulation, allergy relief, regulation of blood circulation, balance of blood pH and joint lubrication.

What makes Lupa's Kitchen Kombucha stand out?

The taste of Lupa’s Kitchen Kombucha says it all! It’s RAW. PURE. SINCERE.

Founder Lupa Irie, ND has been brewing organic kombucha since the early ‘90’s,  and selling it locally in the Atlanta area since 2010 . The family brewing tradition has now been passed onto her daughter Claire.

As a result of her vast scientific knowledge of combining foods for health, Lupa created a variety of kombuchas with a perfect pH and one-of-a-kind tastes. Lupa’s Kitchen kombucha is full of flavor, lacks the heavy vinegar taste and low in sugar associated with many of today’s kombuchas. It is hands down one of the best tasting fermented beverages offered on the market!

Lupa's Kitchen is excited to announce that their CDB infused kombucha is now available on tap at Natures’s Pick Market, Nut’s N Berries and Candler Park Market. You can also find Traditional Kombucha at these locations as well as Maepole’s, Sevananda Coop and Back to the Basic 101. Interested in having Lupa's Kitchen Kombucha on tap in your home or business?
